Dennis J. Pistone – Chairman
Dennis is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Westchester Publishing Services, and started his company as a typesetting business based out of New York City. In 1982, he acquired the Westchester Book Group to extend the services available to his clients. Through the 1980s and 1990s, he continued to build the company’s presence and reputation for high quality in the typesetting and editorial services market.
In the late 1990s, most US based competitors were acquired by parent companies based in India, which provided high quality, low-cost typesetting services. Westchester Book Group resisted this trend, and in 2008 acquired an India based typesetting (now commonly referred to as “composition”) business – Antares Publishing Services. Dennis envisioned a global services company, which can leverage the cost-effectiveness of an overseas facility, but also continues to deliver on the commitment and reputation for providing high quality services to publishing firms.
In late 2014, he migrated his business to a 100% employee-owned company through an ESOP, and renamed the firm to what it is known today: Westchester Publishing Services. Today, Westchester provides market-leading quality editorial and composition services to publishers in numerous publishing segments, with a dominant position in the University Press segment. Headquartered in Danbury, CT, Westchester provides its customers with US based editorial services and customer service, while providing cost-effective composition and digital file (eBooks) production through its wholly owned subsidiary in Chennai, India.
